The very beginnings
On November 1st, 1925 the locksmith Karl Menzel founded the Menzel company in his home town Braunau/Bohemia. The craftsman?s workshop manufactured machines for the nearby textile industry. Innovative development and high-class quality of the products resulted in a rapid development of the company.
In 1948 after the end of the World War II and subsequent expulsion from the Sudeten territory Karl Menzel senior, accompanied by his sons Gerd, Karl and Horst started operations, manufacturing screen printing machines. Afterwards the production of textile finishing machines was resumed. Its high efficiency and outstanding quality put the machines back on high international profile.

Expansion and continuity
High domestic and international demand required an expansion of production capacity. In 1957 the new main plant in Bielefeld Windelsbleiche was opened. Henceforth the scope of delivery contained ranges for wet finishing. Menzel company supplied wet finishing ranges for the textile industry throughout the world.
In 1964 Gerd, Karl and Horst Menzel established the Menzel Brothers Corporation in Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock. The big batch system was technically refined and manufactured and since then, more than 30.000 Menzel batching devices are and have been in operation with our customers.

In 1965 Menzel USA was founded in Spartanburg (South Carolina) in order to serve the U.S. market with Menzel machinery and with its excellent service.
Throughout decades the development and production capacity was extended at all locations. The experiences gained in the textile industry and the technologies developed by Menzel as far as fabric lanes are concerned got transferred to other industries too.
Due to the brilliant achievements of the developers and engineers, Menzel has become leader of innovations.
Nowadays the continuity of the management is guaranteed by the 3rd generation. Peter, Jochen and Constantin Menzel are members of the management board.
